Ragan’s mother was a gymnastics coach. Smith started gymnastics in the year 2004. On August 20, Smith won the 2017 U.S. National Gymnastics Championships all-around title with a two-day combined score of 115.250, over three points ahead of silver medalist Jordan Chiles.
